A new start.....

I just followed a link to a blog by a penfriend of mine Chars, and decided that I should have a blog, well, of course I've got a few and keep frgetting where I left them- d'uh me! The main one is Yahoo 360, but for some reason my computer keeps telling me I can't go there.

So why do I need a blog? let's see..

Earlier this year I started doing an art course and in an attempt to show some of my stuff to people, I have to send gazillions of emails with art attached, so I thought this might be a simplier way! I can blog about my class and add the new paintings here!

Then of course there is the fact that kids are constantly changing and so people might want to hear about that as well.. that can too go here. I am a mother of four and a wicked step mother of one. But then again if you count all the animals, well then the list grows considerably, there is Avalon (Medieval dog) Golden Retriever- Wedding present from In-laws! Chicki (fox fighter- that fox has attacked her twice now and she fights him off, but a good puff of wind would blow her down the street!) and Ambrosia (another medieval dog)- my Apricot Toy Poodle I was given for my 40th Birthday Last October, I have wanted a poodle for 25 year and my cousin brought her for me. Then we have Carl a ginger tabby and his sister Janis who are now 3 yrs old. A mouse, and three chickens Satay, Roast and Parma.

And let's not forget such a busy life we have with all our extra activities I am constantly taking photos of "stuff" and so I can add that news and those pics here as well. Busy? did I mention, radio shows, and motorbike rides, and Art exhursions, and family picnics, and trips to our weekender at St Leonards!

Lastly "date nights" with my bloke, now they are always fun to share. We got married 4 years ago a medieval wedding and since we both came to this marriage with children we missed the normal "dating" thang! And so we decided that we will go on a monthly "Date night"- The rules are as follows: NO KIDS! and I always try to plan something or go somewhere where we haven't been before, that way we get to experiance new things as well and we choose for the month we are allotted for example: April - Kim's and so I took my bloke to an exhibition at the State library of Victoria last thursday night (yes yes I KNOW!! A Date night at the library?!?!- I can all hear you groaning!) BUT what was there that I took him to? well, it was a medieval illuminated manuscripts display... (More groaning?!?!) Anyone who knows me well will know I am obsessed with Medieval everything and after planning that whole Medieval weding complete with Eagle and Kestral for the wedding photos, bag piper and REAL swords for the men to carry, full traditional medieval feast, poetry and a Celtic/Viking wedding ceremony, I was hoping the whole fascination with Medieval stuff would grow old... did it? Hell no! Now I'm even more obssessed! So I had to go to the Library and see these manuscripts and boy were they ever worth it! Some of them dated from 1140.. I mean was Australia even discovered then? NO it was not!
Oh and did I also mention that I am a book-a-holic??? so there- I married my love of Books and my love of all things Medieval into one and created a Date night he really enjoyed!- mind you I was more engrossed with the books than he was but he did get really excited about being in the state library at 8.00pm on a Thursday night and enjoyed the cornices and the general architecture of the whole building.

So you can bet that this blog if I keep it up and I will (Because I'll book mark the page so I don't forget to come back!) will never be dull or boring. Maybe it'll bore some of the people reading it and maybe I'll make some new friends, that would be an added bonus too!
